MDCPS Special Meeting

Last Wednesday, the Miami Dade School Board rescinded the sex ed textbook they approved back in April (after already being out of compliance last school year for not having sex ed curriculum). 278 people filed petitions against the book (only 44 were actually from parents of MDCPS students).

On Thursday, July 28th at 12pm, the school board will be holding a special meeting to discuss the impact of their decision. We need to show up in every way possible, which includes at that meeting AND in their inboxes.

We encourage you to do all of the following:

1) Those that wish to speak in person: Please fill out this form and email it to request4appearance@dadeschools.net no later than Wednesday at 12PM (It's agenda item SP-1).

2) To email school board members, use this tool.

3) Sign the Parents for Children Miami petition.

4) Die-In: Immediately following the meeting, PRISM will be staging a "die-in" to protest MDCPS's inaction on sexual education. We'll each represent people who have died from sexual health-related complications.
