PRISM Gala - Volunteer Opportunity

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 5th, as we celebrate another year of queer, youth-led advocacy at our 2024 PRISM Gala!

Theme: LGBTQ+ History - Stories of Queer Triumphs

This year, we're highlighting the rich and diverse stories of our community’s history. At a time when our rights are regularly threatened by those in power, we choose to honor the past, celebrate the triumphs, and take inspiration from our predecessor’s unwavering devotion to equality and justice.​

We are recruiting a team of volunteers to support the steering committee and staff during the day of the Gala.

Volunteer needs include but are not limited to:

• Check-In / Greeters (check-in guests as they arrive and support with line management and ticket sales)
• Ushers (support guests as they arrive with the layout of the facility and direct guest to points of interest (drinks, raffle/silent auction, dining, performances, announcements...)
• AR Attendants (support guest with navigating the Augmented Reality activations at the Gala)
• Hospitality (support the venue staff and cartering staff with dining needs and clean-up)
• Bartender/Barback (provide guest with drinks based on a set menu)
• Raffle/Silent Auction Attendants (will facilitate raffle ticket sales/silent auction and provide information to guest on possible prizes)
• Set-up / Decor (this team will set up the venue prior to doors openning - centerpieces, entry ways, banners, balloons and more)
• Breakdown (support staff with breakdown and clean up of the venue)
• Presenter/Stagehand (support staff with the keeping on track with the program schedule and possibly MC'ing)
• Photography (photograph the event)

We are requesting folx interested in volunteering to sign up. As we draw closer to the date of the event, you will be contacted with more details on volunteer logistics.
