Speak Out at the Miami Dade School Board!

The Miami-Dade School Board is proposing items to restrict students' educational freedom.

Item G-5 falls in line with HB 1069, banning instruction on gender and sexuality from Kindergarten up to 8th grade.

Item G-6 on the agenda restricts access to what students can see online, banning the use of Tiktok on school wifi and devices. Clubs won't be able to have accounts and promote themselves on the site. It also restricts students, only letting them access vaguely-defined “age-appropriate subject matter.”

Item G-8 gives parents leeway to remove material if they deem it “objectionable”-- giving them more power to censor students’ education.

Make your voice heard so MDCPS knows that these items are out of step with the people of Miami.

In addition, we need to mobilize people to show up to speak at the meeting itself (June 21st at 1PM). You can find the speaker request form here. The form needs to be filled out and emailed to request4appearance@dadeschools.net no later than Monday, June 19th at 4:30 PM. Those who do not submit their form on time can also sign up in person with the clerk on the day of the meeting. Photo ID is required.
